Support Technician and Installer
Burli Software is a Vancouver-based software company that
designs, sells and supports desktop Windows software for the
broadcast industry around the world.
Burli is expanding the Asia-Pacific market and
has an immediate opening for a support and installation technician
in its Taipei office.
The job will be varied, interesting and involve some travel.
Primary responsibilities include:

Providing telephone and e-mail technical support to
experienced IT staff and engineers both during office hours and
occasionally after-hours on-call.
·
Installation and configuration of Burli’s software at
client sites or via remote computer connection. Some user and IT
staff training may be required. Will involve travel across the Asia-Pacific.

Helping to maintain and improve technical documentation,
company knowledge-base and online support resources.
The following skill set is required:

Excellent technical command of Windows PC systems and
networking, including domains and active directories.
Experience maintaining Linux systems an asset.

Strong working database administration knowledge,
especially for MySQL and MS SQL 2005/2008.

Excellent English communication skills suitable for
providing clear and helpful support over the telephone.

Excellent written English for providing e-mail support and
creating technical documentation. Experience in technical
writing, editing and proofing an asset.

Demonstrated ability and interest in learning new systems
and skills.

Confident public-speaking skills suitable for providing
classroom-style training to small groups of experienced IT
staff and/or novice software users.

Strong self-starter, able to work independently with a
minimum of direct supervision.

Ability to travel internationally on occasion as required.

Experience in broadcast journalism, broadcast software
and/or professional media hardware a definite asset.

Experience with software QA, programming and/or system
design an asset.
